HERTFORDSHIRE SCHOOL GAMES
Celebration Event
Friday 8th July 2022

This year as part of our drive to increase opportunities to all schools in Hertfordshire – the
Hertfordshire School Games Celebration Event has been created to offer a mix of
competition, participation and fun for those invited to attend.


The event will be taking place on Friday 8th July 2022 at Oaklands College, St Albans
Campus (Smallford) Hatfield Road, St Albans, Herts, AL4 0JA. SAT NAV please use AL4

9:30am – 3:00pm

Please arrive at the venue for registration between 9.30am and 9.45am

           10.15 am Opening Ceremony commences with Special guests

HERTS SCHOOL GAMES – Ultimate Frisbee

The Ultimate Frisbee event is aimed at year 5 or year 6 pupils who sometimes take part in PE and School Sport Activities, but do not play as part of a team. A maximum of 8 children will make up the team.  2 boys and 2 girls will be on the pitch at any one time. They do not need to have done ultimate frisbee before as they will receive support on the day and have some skills activities they can complete.

 

HERTS SCHOOL GAMES – Mini Tennis Skills Festival

The Mini tennis skills festival event is aimed at year 3 or year 4 pupils who may not get to represent the school very often and are learning Mini Tennis. This event will be in a festival format with skill-based activity stations. A maximum of 8 children will make up the team.  4 boys and 4 girls They do not need to have done any tennis before as they will receive support on the day and have some skills activities they can complete.

 

HERTS SCHOOL GAMES – Racket Pack Badminton Inspire and Engage festival

The Racket Pack badminton Inspire and engage Festival is aimed at year 5 or year 6 pupils to encourage them to participate and have fun whilst trying a new activity A maximum of 8 children can attend 4 boys and 4 girls .They do not need to have done any badminton before as they will receive support on the day and have some skills activities they can complete in a festival format

 

HERTS SCHOOL GAMES – Activity Carousel

The Activity carousel is aimed at Year 3/4 pupils that do not usually participate in School sport and have not represented the schools at any of the School games local competitions. A maximum of 15 children can attend. They do not need to have done any of the events in the carousel of activities before as they will receive coaching on the day. It is more about encouraging them to have a go and join in. Activities include Circus skills, cycling, team building games, fencing, dance and fun fitness
